Institutionalization of Research Center (RC) is an established mechanism for organizing interdisciplinary scientific work in universities. Kathmandu University (KU), in line with its vision and mission, places strong emphasis on research as an integral ingredient of national development, international scientific advancement, and excellence in teaching and training. With the ever-increasing importance of research to the country and the world, KU aims to establish research centers to conduct organized research and raise the institutional reputation. RCs at KU conduct basic and applied research. They also coordinate research on a common problem carried out by scholars from different departments.
